Ideas for resources Large wooden bricks, tunnels, cones, drapes, chairs, crates, chalk, planks, tyres, buckets, steps, trestles, ladders, boxes, ropes and nets. Activity Invite the children to build themselves an assault course. Talk about exciting activities that might be included, such as crawling under, over, through, balancing, jumping over. Provide children with a range of resources and encourage them to select and build imaginatively and safely. Adults role To ensure that resources provided are safe and the construction is safe (e.g. no holes to jam feet, keep low). To support children and supervise the children (avoid direction). To encourage the children to adapt their work where necessary (e.g. make something higher to crawl under successfully). Examples of learning in other areas
